Bulling, A Cataclysmic Killer

Bulling, A Cataclysmic Killer, the title sounds like it's been plucked straight of a sci-fy horror. The problem is, it's very real and very true. Bullying doesn't just bruise a few egos, rattle self-esteem, it kills.

Growing up I was a bullied kid on the playground. It left the playground and followed me into high school. There were times I wanted to drop out , times when I was so angry, frustrated and tired of being the ass end of jokes, rumours and often slander I thought of getting violent. Lucky for me, I had several outlets in the form of sports that offered friendship through team mates but not every kid is afforded the athletic team I had been. They've become walled with nobody they feel safe to talk to, there trapped.

The irony of bullying is it isn't a plague of childhood and adolesence it follows into the world of adults. The only difference? adults dress  it  up with fancy names like harrasment, character deframation and abuse. It's all the same thing no matter how you want to lable it.

So I've spilled out a jumble of text about bullying and it doesn't seem to corralate with the title of this post, here is why bullying is a cataclysmic killer. Everything has a catalyst element to set it into motion.  The more a trapped individual is pushed, sooner or later their going to snap. Some become self-destructive turning to booze and drugs to numb their feelings, some of them will end up cold as ice on a coroners slab because of an over dose. Like my picture in the corner, some people turn to self-harm and one day they cut to deep. There found bled out on the floor by their mother, sister, brother, wife, husband or lover. There is always the bullied individual that resorts to vengence murdering their abusers, some seek venegence and attention and create mascares and the world is left with a tragic event like Columbine. Some bullies grow into murders and murder the kids they've bullied. For being gay, being fat, being black, being white, being hispanic, latino or asian. Kill them for stealing a girlfriend. Some just turn into serial murders. All that death and it doesn't stop their. The families of everyone not have to deal with losses weather to death or a loved one turning murder.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm not claiming to be some high and mighty super human incapable of being a jerk. I am a self-proclaimed bastard. Because I've stood by and watched those around me get bullied in the past, walked by the lone kid in the cafeteria. That is something I promised myself to stop when I turned 18 and stand up for the victims, reach out to those who've been hurting and to never be a bully to anyone. Cause it's gotta stop.
